the way i have it configured:

my Desktop is always on 24/7 so that makes it "my home base"

on desktop you set the path to database as a network share
ex: "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Feedreader"
allow read/write for your username on the laptop in windows sharing.

then on laptop, login to your network shares with explorer

start feedreader go in tools >> synchronise
click on Preferences and set server type to "local file" (you may want to use ftp if want to sync outside of your home lan, use either windows ftp or filezilla server, not client)

ok so in prefs, type path to \\home base\feedreader so it can find the RSSENGINE.FDB on desktop.

click ok, then sync should work.

note: you have to be logged in to your network 1st to use sync that way. Feedreader doesn't log in by itself.

how does sync work ? we need complete article on this plz

i tried it through network path and i don't see any change in read/unread status in either machine.

I was unable to search the forums, but after posting I read another thread which answered my question.

I ran the backup utility and did NOT check cleanup.

It is now fixed.

The error is with the latest version of Feedreader. I have Windows 8, 64 bit, Home Edition. Internet Explorer 9, Norton Firewall.

sorry but it feels like feedreader (3.14) has been abandoned for years, no updates, no forum participation, no bug squashing in years, etc.

yeah i'm still using it, it has a solid base and solid fan base but it is showing its age.

hoping for more interaction from the team, also new updates and new features

I tried setting the font in feedreader.ini. I tried reinstalling. No fix.
I still cannot read the very small print in the third window.
The right and top windows have OK fonts, but not the bottom one.
I cannot submit a screen shot, unfortunately.

Any ideas?
